Sculptures for wearing Jewelry enthusiasts visiting the Facere Jewelry art Gallery, a 200-squart-foot gallery in the heart of Seattle at the City Centre, will be amazed at the treasures they can discover. These talented metal smiths work in a wide variety of materials: ranging from traditional gold, silver, and gemstones to more contemporary materials that include rubber, aluminum and titanium. The adventurous will delight in the fact that many of the creations are one-of-a-kind and limited editions pieces. Facere Jewelry's artisans, which number more than 50, come from all over the world and have been featured in some of the world's most renowned art and jewelry publications. And to appease the more traditional jewelry wearer, there is a large select ion of antique jewelry from the lat 18 th and 19 th centuries. Facere Jewelry Art Gallery also has platinum-and white-gold wedding sets in filigree, along with brooches, necklaces and bracelets from the early 20 th century. One of the artists highlighted at Facere Jewelry Art Gallery is Nadine Kariya. Discussing the elements she creates in , Kariya says, “The jewels I make, echo nature, but have evolved into simple geometric forms. Some of the equalities that Lorene seeks in emerging artisans who are represented by Facere are originality and fine craftsmanship. In fact, from April 23, 2003 to May 10, 2003, Facere Jewelry Art Gallery will host all Mixed Up, a mixed-metal show of contemporary art that will feature some of Lorene's new artisans.
