Temples, homes, and tombs line the steep canyon walls, all sculpted from sandstone in hues of red, maroon, and gold. Next day, Seabourn Spirit docks at Safaga, and guests set off across the Eastern Desert arriving suddenly in the green valley of the Nile and entering the modern city of Luxor, renowned in antiquity as Thebes.
